Last night was about who is going to make the team.  Tony Hunt looked good on special teams and as fullback.  Hunt is a keeper.  At least for this year's version of Eagles fullback.  I'm sorry Jason Davis but you played your way out of a job.  Beside the Philadelphia Eagles don't really need a fullback.  The Eagles fullback is like a special teamer.  The fullback is on the field for certain plays and throughout the year doesn't get many touches.  The Eagles expect the fullback to sacrifice their body for the team just like on special teams.  That's why in the past several years, the Eagles have converted linebackers, tight end and this year,  a big half back who wants to play football.  Hunt gives the Eagles more versatility because he can play half back too.  If the experiment doesn't work out they can always pick up someone later in the season.  Matt Schobel looked like he wanted a desk job last night especially after he took that big hit trying to catch one across the middle.  Andy Reid has kept this guy around for a few years.  Yes, Schobel put up some numbers but his game makes me want to yell at the TV.  Time to move on and give Kris Wilson a chance to shine.  Wilson can't do worse the Schobel.  On the defensive side, Bryan Smith and Jerome McDougle made their case for the team.  If the defensive line is going to win games this year, the Eagles are going to need all the players can get.  Keep them and shuffle the secondary around.  A fresh defensive line pressuring the quarterback, makes the secondary's job easier.  Joe Mays was all around the ball last night.  If Mays as a rookie gets how to play linebacker you wonder what is taking Rocky Boiman so long.  Time to shuffle Boiman along to the next team and make room for fresh young talent either Justin Roland or Andy Studebaker.  Players that make me feel good.  Kick returner Quintin Demps going 52 yards on a return.  Backup QB Kevin Kolb look calm and in control again last night.  I love it when Kolb takes the Eagles on long drives.  The future looks like it is in good hands.  Preseason games are done.  Bring on the regular season.  Fight, Eagles, fight on to victory.
