Take down the Wells Fargo Center ice: Devils beat Flyers, 3-1, to take series in five games

It was a stupid turnover that Ilya Bryzgalov made that Flyers fans will remember in the Flyers’ 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils that cost the Flyers a chance to move to the Eastern Conference Final.
But it was not the reason the Flyers lost Game 5.
They routinely made sloppy passes, Marty Brodeur handled the puck better than his counterpart and the Devils made better advantage of the power plays.
Especially the last one.
Four seconds after James VanRiemsdyk’s interference call, Devils star Ilya Kovalchuk scored to put the Devils up, 3-1.
The Flyers seemed to skate with less energy after the goal, despite hometown chants of “Let’s Go Flyers.”
It was hard to watch the last 10 minutes of the game, knowing the Flyers did not have the talent or energy to come back.
At 2:27 Brzgalov was pulled for an extra attacker.
Nothing happened, except Danian Zubrus’ offside goal, which was disallowed.
After beating the Penguins so handily in the first round, it figured the Flyers would handle the Devils in five or six game.
The Devils would have none of it.
Goodnight, moon.
Goodnight, Flyers.
