30-1 MLB countdown previews: #12 Giants

giants logo The San Francisco Giants are coming off their 2nd World Series Championship in the last 3 years and deserve all the credit in the world for it. But, just because they won, it does not mean they should be the favorites to win again this season. However, they have a couple things going right for them as far as chemistry is concerned. Players like Angel Pagan and Marco Scutaro, who jelled with this team so perfectly last season, cannot be expected to perform at the same level now that they have signed new contracts. For example, Scutaro hit .362 with the Giants after he was acquired from the Colorado Rockies. Melky Cabrera, as artificially enhanced as it was, carried the team in the 1st half of the season with his .346 average. Buster Posey (.336, 24, 105) was every bit the...

49ers Acquire Anquan Boldin

Just moments after the Seattle Seahawks made their move, trading a package of picks to the Minnesota Vikings for Percy Harvin, the 49ers respond by trading a sixth round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for WR Anquan Boldin!  The 49ers were already a dominate team, but now they have one of the best receivers in the game, who is not afraid to catch the ball over the middle, and is a great red zone receiver. The way Colin Kaepernick turned Michael Crabtree into a top flight wide receiver last season turned heads, and providing him with another weapon like Boldin boosts the entire 49ers offensive talents fantasy values.  This opens up the field even more for Frank Gore who rushed for 1214 yards and 8 TDs last season.  How can you possible guard Crabtree, Boldin and Read more

Giants Tim Lincecum Cuts His Signature Long Hair

Giants fans everywhere were in for a bit of a shock today as their star pitcher revealed that he’s chopped off his signature long locks.

Lincecum is coming off a horrible year, by anyone’s standards, especially his for someone who’s won two Cy Youngs and was apart of the world series winning team.

USA Today  posted the pictures of a very sleek-looking Lincecum as he reported to a team meeting on Friday. Lincecum has come to be identified for his long floppy hair, which fit perfectly with the San Francisco free loving environment and youth that he brought to the league.

Maybe the cut is a new start, as Tim is hoping for a bounce back year. Very Samson and Delialh-esque, if you ask me.

Are you in favor of the new mature Lincecum?

49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh: An Insufferable Douche Bag

When on the MTRRadio.com Super Bowl Pregame show I heard radio personality James Flippin call the 49ers coach “An Insufferable Douche Bag”.  At the time I thought it was a little harsh but not having any skin in the Super Bowl, I let it go thinking he was just over overstating his dislike a bit? A week later I realized that he was spot on. Super Bowl Winning Head Coach JOHN Harbough stated on the Letterman Show that he had not spoken to his brother Jim, head coach of the losing 49ers since the game a week ago. I am sorry but this is BS.  Losing the Super Bowl must suck but your brother just won the Super Bowl which is pretty cool.  Competitiveness is ok to a point but call your brother. Sports are still supposed to be about sportsmanship.  The loser needs to show some and call his brother. Don’t be a douche Jim....
