Report: New York Jets “Smitten” With Geno Smith, Starting Job His To Lose

No!
The NY Jets not surprisingly released media star QB Tim Tebow. To say that the Jets mis-used Tebow in 2012 is an understatement to say the least. Then they draft highly touted QB Geno Smith to compete against Mark Sanchez for the starting position.
So what will happen next to Tebow? The statement that always stick with me about Tebow is “wherever he plays, he just wins.” He is not the typical NFL QB for sure but is a team works to his talents he can be successful. His NFL career is not over. Where he lands will be interesting but wherever he goes it will not be because of hype, it will be because a team wants to win.
The Jets did not want to win.

New York Jets Draft Preview
by Josh Cacella
The New York Jets have a lot invested in this draft and they need to pick wisely. The team had massive turnover in the offseason and has lost most of their veteran leadership on the defensive side of the ball. Not only is star CB Darelle Revis gone both starting safeties Laron Landry and Yeremiah Bell have departed and the team also cut ties with LB Bart Scott. The Revis trade gave the Jets the 13th overall pick setting them up with two picks(9,15) in the top 15.
Top Priorities
1) Outside Linebacker – Rex Ryan has been searching for a true pass rushing outside linebacker since his arrival in New York. Both Bryan Thomas and Calvin Pace have underachieved in recent years. Thomas is no longer with the team and Pace was resigned to a one year deal. The only other outside linebackers on...
My New York Jets have become the butt of many jokes recently, and rightfully so. Things got so bad this season that Fireman Ed, their unofficial cheerleader, stepped down. The season culminated with the the firing of General Manager Mike Tannebaum, the so called “cap expert” who left the Jets in a salary cap nightmare.
To replace Tannebaum, the Jets brought in unheralded John Idzik, former VP of football administration for the Seattle Seahawks. Idzik was and is facing a massive challenge ahead of him, and while his biggest and defining move (fair or unfair) has yet to be made (Darrelle Revis), he has done well in his first few months on the job, Coming into the the offseason the Jets were nearly $20 million over the salary cap, but after some roster cuts and contract restructuring, they were able to create $15 million of cap space. Granted, that wasn’t enough to bring back valuable veterans...

The person, who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because the talks were to remain private, said Kolb is likely headed elsewhere and that the New York Jets are a possible landing spot. The person said new Jets offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg certainly has a high opinion of Kolb from his days with the Philadelphia Eagles before the team dealt him to Arizona. Kolb started only seven games for the Eagles in his last two seasons with the team and lost his job when Michael Vick replaced him following an injury to Kolb in the 2010 season opener.
